You've tasted our oysters at events across San Diego. Now we're taking you inside the operation.
The Shellfish Affair is opening exclusive access to two places the public never sees: Baja Shellfish Farms processing plant in Ensenada where every one of our oysters is sorted, graded, and prepped before it reaches your event, and Baja Shellfish Farms cold storage site at Whales Cove, reachable only by boat, where our Baja oysters sit in the cold Pacific waters until they're ready to be served.
You'll board a boat, head out to Whales Cove, our cold storage site, and taste all three of our Baja varieties right there on the water, fresh-shucked, paired with sparkling local wine. Then back to the plant for a full behind-the-scenes walkthrough.
This is as close to the source as it gets.
The Experience
Start at our processing plant in Ensenada, the hub where every Shellfish Affair oyster is sorted, graded, and prepped.
Board a boat and head out to our cold storage site, where our oysters are kept alive in the cold Pacific waters.
Fresh oyster tasting on the water, all three Baja varieties (Kumiai, Pai Pai & El Chingón) paired with sparkling local wine and classic accompaniments.

A Few Questions We Get
Do I need a passport?
Yes — you'll need a valid US passport or passport card to cross into Baja. A Real ID driver's license is not sufficient for re-entry.
Is this a ticketed, paid event?
This registration is completely free. Pricing details (if any) will be shared when we confirm the date and finalize the experience.
Can I bring someone?
Yes — register once per person so we can manage group size. If you're coming with a group, just add the quantity that matches your party.
